found an old classic on the rack today. a pretty clean old remington 700 bdl "varmint special" in 222 rem. i've had one of these on my bucket list for a while but you don't see them all that often. here in the last 2 weeks cgrutt was talking about getting the boy a classic chambering in 22 hornet in like a cooper. i kinda chuckled at the cooper, out of my realm but brought to mind of still finding one of these fine old guns. the varmint series was pretty darn accurate right out of the box and the 222 is a great round. i reload and have all the components and dies so no worries. i think i have a spare leupold straight 12x to throw on top. we'll see how it shoots when the weather breaks and dries up a bit.
