  • vacation for certain Calibers, or Sell ..??

I really see no increase in availability of certain calibers, seems Mfgrs are concentrating on .223, .308, etc
Some rifles I can not part with like my .30-.30 that was one of my first guns, and every day field companion
    Grandfathers 220 Swift must stay
    but
others that have no emotional attachment, and no reasonable ammo like 22-250 I believe I will sell
I do not see it practical to reload for something like the .243, or 22-250, as they just don't get the use

mostly it's varmit calibers that I am thinking about, as I these days grab that black rifle for yotes, and ground hogs (rodents, not the 2-legged ones we have here in the Southern Tier )

I LOVE my .22-250 for chucks. But that's partially because my EBR sits in the closet still...in pieces. I even took a small feral hog with it last Spring.

If you look at the modern 223R varmint loads like the superformance 35gr NTX at 4000fps and the 53vmax at 3600fps there is little point on the 22-250.
The 243 continues to be very popular due to the flat shooting and mild recoil but if you look at what the 6BR can do then one could probably do the same
things w. half of the powder. And although the BR is the king of score competition and really aimed to target shooting the fact it makes a great hunting
and varmint round. But for an all terrain type of round that offers mild recoil and lots of options to go after larger game the 7mm/08 is hard to beat.
But by the same taken a 308w with the 130gr TSX, 125gr BT nosler are also ligthing bolts with much milder recoil.
So there is a good argument right there for consolidation.
It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

really depends on how old you are. If you are getting up there in age, I would say sell the ones you dont use or hand them down to family. If you are a Spring or Summer Chicken then just stow them for a later more Sunny time.
