7.62x39 was discontinued as the primary round in the ussr in the 70's and stocks have been pilfered and sold all around the world since the 90's, now the Russian stocks are being expended rapidly. But it's a popular round in the U.S. 5.45 never gained traction, and giving our prodigious nature as Americans, do you think we have taken the title of the country with the most 7.62x39 in existence? Impossible to know for sure but knowing this is a likely future if not current reality makes me proud to be an American, and miss the SKS I had.

Love me some 7.62x39! I've got a gun cabinet full of SKS's and AK's plus several cases of ammo to feed them (purchased back when it was @ $200/case). Not a fan of 5.45 or 5.56.....
