  • 22lr conversion kit

So, I've got a crap-ton of 22lr ammo. PSA was running a special over Easter for the CMMG 22lr AR conversion kit with three 25 round mags for $100 off the regular price so I grabbed one. I got a chance to get out yesterday and run it. I stuck it in a spare AR I'm dedicating to this kit and sighted the red dot for the smaller cartridge (it only took a couple of clicks from the 5.56 zero at 25 yards to dial it in). The thing ran 300 rounds flawlessly without a jam, FTF, or FTE......gotta say that I'm pretty impressed. They recommend running plated 22lr to keep from getting lead fouling in the gas port. I swapped the big boy BCG back in and ran a mag of 5.56 to clean the barrel when I finished up. Now I'm seriously thinking about spending the $ on a tax stamp so I can get a can.

For you guys hoarding your 5.56 stash but missing the quality time with your plastic rifles, I'd highly recommend the 22lr conversion kit.

PSA currently has the same sale going on the CMMG kit with 10 round mags: https://palmettostatearmory.com/cmmg...s-22ba6ae.html

Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

    I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

How accurate was it? 5.56 and .22lr have different bore diameters and vastly different twist rates.

It's definitely not a match setup man. My offhand groups were @ 3" at 25 yards and @ 1" at 10 yards, that's why it's called "plinking". If you leave the sub-MOA mindset at home and go the range to just have fun and shoot at stuff (pop cans, bowling pins, spinner targets, clay pigeons, etc.) it's well worth the money. Added bonus is not having to worry about accounting for all your spent brass, cringing at the fact that each trigger pull costs 50 cents, or lamenting that you're using up your reloading supplies.

      For you Dave:
