  • Franklin Armory Reformation

Was not sure where to put this figured I put it the long guns spot,Anyways has anyone seen this new gun that was being announced at Shot Show 2018 it is called the Reformation,Myself do not think this gun will go very far in the gun community..

I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

The question is why? Ok, it's not a rifle, it's not a shotgun, and it's not accurate, so why would anyone want one?

Exactly! Straight lands/grooves (no twist) allows it to beat the NFA definition of shotgun (smooth bore) and rifle (twisted lands/grooves) but the damn thing shoots 4 MOA at 50 yards. I believe I can achieve at least that accuracy, if not better with a pistol at that distance. So, we've got something that is bigger than a pistol, shorter than a rifle, and has the accuracy of a slingshot.........what's the appeal?

Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

        I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

I think the appeal is flipping the bird to the BATF and not having to pay for a tax stamp.

I guess they're introducing a fin stabilized projectile geared towards this rifle. No idea what accuracy will be with the special projectiles.

For CQB, 4 moa is probably more than enough accuracy, and not everyone can handle a pistol that well.

I'm sure this configuration isn't for everyone, but I'm guessing they'll make money on it.

Much cheaper and I would say a better option for both CQB and flipping the ATF off (especially if they start producing them in the "M" variant to accept a magazine!):

            But that's just my opinion......

That's the beauty of the free market; lots of options for people with differing tastes.

Keep in mind, I’m not saying they shouldn’t build them. I just don’t get it and won’t be lining up for one.

They may not require a tax stamp, but that doesn't mean they're legal in New Yorkistan.

I think a company would be better served spending resources on a reliable bullpup shotgun

So maybe we can't see practical purposes for the reformation, but what about legal tactic purposes?

Franklin has filed suit against the state in US District Court over its refusal to allow sales of Reformation guns. You can read the complaint, Franklin Armory v. New Jersey, here. Franklin has issued the following press release . . .

How far is Franklin Armory willing to take this court case and what impact could it have on restrictive gun laws in New Jersey and beyond?

I'm hoping that this isn't just a PR stunt for Franklin Armory and that they're willing to see this through.

It looks like the NFA has decided to create a completely new category for the Reformation. Regulators gonna regulate.

                  https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/breaking-atf-declares-the-franklin-armory-reformation-a-gca-sbs-shotgun-halts-all-sales/

The Reformation is now a new critter altogether…a GCA/SBS. This genus is so new, in fact, that the ATF is having to gin up entirely new forms and procedures to handle it.

That means that as of today, FFL’s can no longer sell them (until the new forms and procedures are in place). To be clear, they haven’t outlawed the Reformation, they just need to develop procedures for selling them.

While the ATF’s letter doesn’t directly address this, it doesn’t appear that the ATF will be pursuing Reformation shotguns that have already been sold to the public. For now. Owners are only prohibited from transporting them across state lines.

This is an awful lot of fuss just to appease the busybody bureaucratic lawyers and regulators. In the end nobody will be safer because of this new classification, just inconvenienced.
