    I have just enough funds left in my wallet for one more gun purchase. Should I?

    I never thought I'd be considering the purchase of a Mauser, because I didn't want to get into another caliber, but it's in .308/7.62 NATO, which of course is a very popular caliber.

    I've never even heard of this particular model, until I came across one yesterday. I had to look it up, thinking it was some kind of Frankengun. Turns out, it's the real deal. It is a Mauser FR8, priced at $550 (which might be a tad high, but I bet I could talk them down a bit).

    What says AA?

      LOL, if you mean what I think you mean, I actually own more bolt action rifles than semi-auto rifles.

          If the barrel is marked "IDF" grab it and run!!!

            I don't know if that is possible, since the FR8 was made in the 1950's by the Spanish. I don't know where they sourced the new barrels, but hadn't read anywhere that they got them from the Israelis.

                LOL, when was the last time you saw a Spanish FR8. I've never seen one before that I know of. Of course I wasn't looking either.

                    Based on what I'm seeing on Wikipedia it looks like a pretty cool rifle. The sights and storage tube are neat features.

                      Plus, the end of the tube doubles as the bayonet mount.

                      This one doesn't come with the bayo. I did manage to talk the seller down to $500, but I'm trying get just a little more out of him, which is difficult since its a consignment sale.
