Android Shot Timer App

A video of Michelle Viscuzi doing drills with a shot timer popped up on Facebook and it got me curious about what apps are available. I was surprised to see that there are quite a few different shot timer apps available for Android. I have no idea where to even start with evaluating these apps, so I figured I'd see if anyone has any recommendations on which one is best.

I'm a newbie to this kind of thing and not even entirely sure how a typical stand alone shot timer works. I'm assuming there is a set amount of countdown time, then a start tone, then it records your time after that. Is that correct?

The countdown time can be random too, so you don't know exactly when the start timer will go off.
stand alone timers can show you the splits between shots too. i've never used an app though i have downloaded them a couple times, i've still never actually tried them for some reason

Finally tried out the one shot timer app I downloaded. The app I used is called "Splits Shot Timer". I haven't really dug into all the features and adjustments, but it seems to work pretty well. The starting beep is randomized and it keeps track of the timing for all of your shots. It also tells your splits, split averages, and all kinds of other statistical information that is beyond what I'm looking for at this point. The only issue is that it picked up shots by another guy at the range a couple times. There is a "Shot Intensity Range" adjustment that I believe is supposed to limit what it picks up, but I didn't play with the adjustment. No idea if it could really differentiate between shooters at an indoor range all that well anyways.

Overall it seems to work and if nothing else it's useful because it's humbling. I didn't believe it when I saw how long it was taking me to get my first shot off. A friend keeping count on subsequent strings confirmed that I am indeed slower than molasses in January.
