  • Any 10mm fans here? Looking at a G29SF

Currently own a G20SF and love it. Huge fan of the cartridge (yes I reload to get the most out of it since most store bought is dummies down). Been looking into a more carry suited 10mm and I think the G29SF is it. Wondering if anyone here has one and if so what Gen. Torn between a 3rd Gen and a 4th Gen. Noting like being able to throw a 180gr pill at almost 1300FPS.

I was gonna ask what the advantage of 10mm is over 9mm but I think you answered that at the end of your post, lol! Sorry I can't chime in with valuable info.
I could be wrong...it's happened before and it'll happen again.

10mm can be compared to a 44mag.... lots of power, excellent ballistics but scrapped by those that could not ride the lightning at the FBI. Honestly, it's recoil is like a mix of 45ACP and 40sw.

Don't own a 10mm but I've always wanted one (or more). That's an interesting pic, I would have expected the 45 ACP to standout but looks like damage is on par or slightly worse than other calibers above 9mm. Doesn't seem right...

Wound channel, velocity and penetration are the factors that brought me to live the 10mm.... I'm also a sucker for 357Sig as well (bottleneck cartridge reliability, velocity).

My neighbor FFL can get me a G29SF for $550 plus tax (gen4). Gonna call around and see what collector has them for.

I shoot a Colt Delta Elite in 10mm, but I'm a fan of the 1911 platform
I must say I love beavers.

I called Collector.....I've been a customer for over a decade. Called spoke to an unfamiliar voice and asked for price and guy says "We don't give pricing over the phone." I introduced mysel, said I usually travel 50 minutes to get there and asked for a price range and not even exact amount to try and get something and the guy was still a jerkoff so I hung up. Called back later and no one answered. WTF is going on there!?! Asked my neighbor whose an FFL and he was around $550 which seems fair for a Gen4. Saw a few on Gunbroker for up to $629 which is madness.

I'm checking with one of the dad's on my son's hockey team who may be a source. I'll let you know if he can help after he get's back to me.

BTW if you use the Gallery of Guns gun genie looks like Collector sells online for $556.63 plus fees and taxes for $615 out the door. I'll still try to swing by later this week.

OK was able to swing by Collector this afternoon. They had 2 Glock 29SF that they showed me:
                            - Gen 4 - $580 + tax (8.125% I think)
                            - Gen 3 - $609 + tax (with factory installed night sights)

Ok I can go a couple ways
