  • How many shoot carry pistol?

Just curious how many of you actually shoot your carry pistol and if you shoot it more or less then your other pistols? Do you ever do malfunction drills with it either?

My carry gun is a Glock, it doesn't malfunction.
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

    I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

Every Tuesday in the concealed Carry shot put on by Rochester Personal Defense. And I always shoot my carry pistol on any range trip.

I picked up a S&W MP Shield for carrying when I got my restrictions removed. And have been shooting it a lot to get a good feel for it! Still like my S&W 6906 SA/DA best same size as the Shield but double stacked.

I think Rob is feeling guilty for all the excuses to miss the Tuesday night shoots.

Yea lol, also I'm willing to bet a lot of people in general don't shoot there carry pistols because they are large caliber small pistols and not fun to shoot or don't shoot often at all.

I like my glock 19 and even after an extended time with not shooting I still think I shoot it well enough to be confident if I ever had to use it.

Nobody responded to the second part of your question though. I've only practiced malfunction drills at courses I've taken, never by myself. I should start doing this. BTW, I didn't think it was an odd question or lacking common sense.

Malfunctions : If I'm at a range just punching paper by myself, I like to use 5 magazines. I'll load each of them with a random number of rounds, and also mix in snap caps as well. Mix them all up on the bench and make sure that you can't see the round count indicators. Then you never know when you'll run dry OR have a failure to fire.

I actually had a 9mm reload with a missing primer a few weeks ago during the RDPA tuesday night shoot. Pull trigger, got nothing but a click. I actually surprised myself that without hesitation I gave it a quick "Tap-Rack" and barely missed a beat. I keep saying that I'm going to make up a few more dummy rounds and mix them in. What better place to have malfunctions and learn to clear them without thinking.
