  • What revolver would you buy?

So I may or may not be in a position in 6 months to buy a pistol for lets say $1,000 or less. If you didn't have any revolvers which would you buy and why?

Just looking for ideas an options.

    Thanks!

I already have a pistol for all those so doesn't matter which one.

Don't know if I should get "hammerless" for jacket carry, something that shoots 45 LC and 410 shells or something completely different

I'm not sold on the hammerless idea. I like having the option of firing single action.

OK so in your mind the hammerless option is more of a niche product for a narrow specific use in mind?

I'd go with a big ol 44 Mag from S&W or Ruger. If you're going to be shooting a revolver might as well have some fun while you're at it. Also can be used for hunting in SHTF scenario or personal protection while camping or hiking.

I am lusting after this particular wheel gun:

              Ruger SP101 stainless 3" in 357

Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

              I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

Not crazy about the lack of a rear sight. I had the Ruger LCR .38 and got rid of it for that reason.

I've got a S&W Mod 60 which looks similar to above. The rear sight is actually formed (groove) into receiver which doesn't bother me because I view the gun more of a point and shoot for defensive carry than a target gun. What does bother me is the damn thing kicks like a mule (with 357 Mag) due to small size and relatively little weight.

I know what you mean. It's like you only use it if you're up close and personal. Shove it in the bad guys gut and don't have to worry about missing your target.

I agree here Smith and Wesson 686 or 586 (same gun just one is blue one is stainless). I carry my 586 everyday for work and love it! The balance is beautiful the trigger is perfect and shooting it in single action is a ****ing dream! If I had to choose one revolver this is it. Love it!
