I have found I just can't deal with the standard hybrid IWB holsters, biggest issue being the seated thing as you have described and the fact that I have to basically clip it to my belt and pants prior to putting my pants on. That's why I moved to kydex OWB, much more comfortable as I have migrated from a 3:30-4:00 to a 2:30-3:00 position (especially seated in the car). The style I wear ride high and tight to my body and conceal pretty good under a loose shirt. The downside to OWB is that you have to worry about what is sticking downwards (which is hidden with an IWB rig). The OWB rigs that I have do not extend much more than @ an inch below my belt but that is enough to usually require an overshirt (Hawaiian or a flannel) to keep it from peeking out if I have to bend over too far (save the comments!).
On the advice of another member here I have decided to try AIWB. Got my holster a few days ago and so far have discovered it to be way more concealable than any other method I have tried despite the fact that I'm a fat guy. I really like the fact that I can insert/remove the holster without screwing with my belt/pants/etc. I need to make a few tweaks and find that sweet spot but I think this may be my new way to go. (Thanks Greg)
