Well as you may have guessed from the thread title, I sorta enjoy my 1911-22..BUT, in my love affair I have worn down my "hooked" nose of my extractor
. FTEs on each and every trigger pull started last night. I cleaned it well (as I do 3xs a week after Range outing..no fix. Being only few months old, it's still well within the 1 year warranty, problem is I don't want to be without it for weeks upon weeks..So today I took apart the Extractor cleaned it all extremely well, filed yhe "hooked nose" of the extractor to give it a little more sharpness to grab the rim. I wire brushed the hell out of the chamber and stretched the Extractor spring outwards a tad, making it have more tension to grab the rim of the round and/or spent shell. Went back to the range and shot 300 with only 2 failures, mighty mighty proud of myself
I then went to the Manufacturers site and ordered new Extractor and spring for 13$, just for emergency and in the future of the 30,000 rounds number lol. I'm not a fan of sending my things away unless it's a worst case ,last choice option..and today is exactly why..
