Why am I more accurate outdoors at the same distances? Does artificial lighting play a role in how you see your sight picture? Last weekend when shooting my 1911 I was knocking Golf balls off a post and at the same distances on the indoor range I would be hard pressed to do the same. Do you guys seem to be more accurate whether its indoor or outdoor?? My eyesight is luckily still perfect at my age, eye Dr proven.

Probably, watch brain games, lighting and shadows can drastically alter perception

Nothing to do with it. Indoors or out I can't hit squat.

Shooting inside the sound and the percussion coming off the walls may be affecting you? I shoot a Appleseed a few years ago and a guy was shooting a AR to my right we were under cover a I could feel his shots coming off the wall to his right. Next day I made sure I go there early to get a spot at the other end of the line!

How bright is the lighting on your indoor range? Just like a camera adjusting to a smaller aperture opening in brighter light, your eyes can bring more of what you see into sharper focus when they have more light to work with. Sights and target in better focus equals better accuracy.
