Traded a few Griswold cast iron pans and $200 for a real decent 2" Agent today. Hopefully will be in my FFL hands on Monday, he lives next door so we'll get to play with it. Anyone have experience with these?

this is from wikipedia;
Colt Agent
The Colt Agent was a lower-price version of the Cobra, featuring a less highly polished blue finish and smaller, simplified grips. The bottom of the Agent gripstock was slightly shorter than that of the Cobra. The original Agent weighed 14 ounces and was available only in .38 Special caliber, with a 2-inch barrel and blued finish. It was made from 1962-1979.(One source, Proofhouse.com, says Agent production started in 1955. The author making this edit has an Agent with a serial number that places it during 1958.) A slightly revised version of the Agent was released in 1973 with a shrouded barrel with a weight of 16 ounces. In 1984, the Agent was briefly revived by Colt, this time with a parkerized finish; production continued until 1986.
i have never owned an agent. i do have one of the later shrowded cobras that i don't think i've fired as yet. probably make for a good light 38 carry gun. i wouldn't shoot +P's in it, just me. rather have an agent than a fry pan any day ........

Thanks for the input, I also read that it was during the strike years when Colt was having some turbulent times. Not sure if it was the earlier production or later production when they were doing the parkerized finish as the polishers were out on strike. I don't plan on running anything more than .30's through it, will try my .38 Super loads as well just to check for accuracy.I must say I love beavers.

Update, got a message on my phone today, guy is backing out, says the reason is with the hassle of transfers and such he wants to sell his handguns as a package. I'll call him later to find out WTF?
I'll find out what they are and what he wants to get rid of them. If I make an offer it will be 50% of book value and pass them on to members here for what low price I offer. What we will need is a member with an FFL to take possession to get them, and dive them up with the background check and transfer crap. May be a long shot but figure it might be worth throwing it out there. Gun are in Amsterdam. From what I remember;
Colt Agent
Colt Official Police .38? (cracked forcing cone)
