    Monthly tactical pistol match at ORGC

    Monthly Practical pistol matches starting up April 26, continue last Sunday of the month throughout the summer. 9AM - Noon, get there @ 30 minutes early. Laid back shoot open to the public, new shooters welcome, no attitudes, just great people and a great time.

    Come on out and meet me this coming Sunday, sling some lead, and get your jollies shooting bad guys (err....I mean "neutralizing threats"). Dave? Greg? Turbo? Camper? Ray? Warfab?

        I just got my FOB on Saturday. Any details om the shoot? I would love to try some competition shooting. Lost brass assumed? How many rounds would I need?

          No real details other than show up, it's very laid back. Seriously though, it's been a while since we had one so I think this first Sunday we'll just be winging it. Typically lost brass but if you hang around to break down after the shoot I think you'll be able to pick up all the brass you want (I keep a supply of steel cased stuff on hand for these events). Not sure on the round count but would think 100 rounds should cover it. A good holster, mag holder, and some spare mags round out the hardware needs. Don't worry about the particulars, just show up @ 8:30 with your gun and some ammo, we'll figure it out from there.

              I'm starting up my busy season. I have only a few Tues left that I can make. Won't be getting many days off soon

                    Last bump for this month. Come on out tomorrow morning (9:00AM),shoot a fun match, and meet the NYSG celebrities (me and RandallofLegend). Bring your pistol, some ammo, and $10.....rumor has it that there will be a shotgun side match happening too.

                      I have to bow out this month due to lack of equipment (stage 3 requires 4 magazines), and borrowing a shotgun from my father. I will be remedying that for the next shoot!

                      From the ORGC website

                      "will be 3 stages and a side shotgun stage. Setup time is 9 am and we could use help. We will try to start shooting at 10 am.

                      The cost this year will be $15.00 per person. This will include the shotgun stage. There is no change in cost if you do not shoot the shotgun stage so bring your shotgun. The round counts will be as follows steel 4 rounds 5 plates minimum 20 rounds. Stage 2 will be 21 rounds minimum and stage 3 will be 34 rounds minimum. The shotgun stage will be 25 rounds minimum. Trap or target loads are fine.

                      Please note that this year’s pistol shoots are on the last Sunday of each month and will have a cost of $15.00.

                          Good times today. 15 shooters showed up so it was a rather long day though. Steel is always fun, stage 2 required engaging 3 targets, a popper, then a mandatory reload (rinse and repeat 3 times). The run and gun was challenging as always and the shotgun stage was a cool bonus. Everybody liked the shotgun so much that I get the feeling it may be added as a regular option. I had planned on getting some video but forgot all about it once we got to shooting, I'll get some next month.

                          Also found out my Sig doesn't like to feed that crappy steel Tulammo so I got my fair share of malfunction clearing practice today.
