  • Couple More Things About the Ruger

Went out this morning and shot 15 more rounds before the snow started. Overall, I felt better about it, and was happier shooting, even though I didn't improve any on the groupings. Definitely getting a feel for the gun.

I have a couple minor complaints. Very minor. Figured I share them anyway. First, inside are two spots that are not a problem other than visually, but the one looks like a line of clear glue and it drives me crazy.

Then there's this dark spot that kind of looks like a welding bump, but most likely isn't.

This one is the most annoying. REALLY?! They had to put this here?

So I DID read the manual, and followed the instructions for disassembly. I had to watch the video on ruger.com to figure out part of it. (What's up with that weird guy who does their videos, btw?) Then I figured, what the heck, I'll watch the cleaning video since I'm just sitting here. The weird dude just cleans the barrel and cylinder without taking anything apart!! Says, "You don't have to do anything other than this, unless your gun is exposed to bad weather, blah, blah..." Which is what I figured with a revolver, but your stupid etching on the barrel says "read instruction manual" which tells me to disassemble for cleaning. Aargh!

    I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

The dimples look like casting marks.

Ruger puts that damn "Read Manual" on every one of their handguns. Not sure about rifles.

True. Just too bad that I have to have someone else's stupidity on my gun, lol.

Actually began in late 1977. Announced in Ruger Newsletter, vol. 1, NO. 4, June, 1978.
              "New Rollmarking on Barrels"
"Late in 1977 we began rollmarking the barrels of Ruger firearms with the following legend: BEFORE USING GUN--READ WARNING IN INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FREE FROM STURM, RUGER & COMPANY, INC., SOUTHPORT, CT., U.S.A."

"Many of our customers have asked why we are marking Ruger firearms this way now. Most of them are experienced shooters who already to know how to handle firearms safely and responsibly."

"In today's consumer-oriented society we are seeing an era in which government seems determined to protect the individual citizen from himself, whether he likes it or not! Over the years, this has resulted in the subtle erosion of our personal liberties, and the emergence of an ever-increasing number of people who have never learned to accept responsibility."

                Well that's terrifyingly prophetic......

It's not just Ruger either. My Sig P250 has it (but not the P224). Matter of fact I just checked my Beretta 92FS and it has it stamped on the barrel too!
