  • Sig P226 conversion

I want a Sig P226 (9mm) - but can not find one at a reasonable price.
    I found a P226 (.40) - Anyone use a conversion kit on their Sig?

All you really need to go from .40 to 9mm is the proper conversion barrel. I think it Bar-Sto that makes them. From what I've seen, even the .40 mags will feed 9mm just fine. Some people say that you should also swap out the recoil spring, others say no, but thsts a cheap part, and i tend to have a few extras around for the Sig, as Sig says to replace them every couple thousand rounds anyway.
I've been wanting to get the barrel for my P229, but they've been out of stock.
The other option is Sig's X-Change kit, which I also plan to get, but for .22. The complete upper is a bit more money than just the barrel, though.
Politicians are like diapers. They both need to be changed often, and for the same reason.

      I own many sigs... p220, P229, p290,....

For my P220 I have the complete sig 22LR conversion upper.

For my P229R (in 40sw) I have the complete 9mm upper as well as a 357sig barrel.

Best money you'll spend on your sig besides extra mags. No gimmick.... They are awesome. Light and easy to add to go bag.... Save money on ammo. Just awesome.

Honestly get a 40 bc can always reduce caliber with kit or conversion barrel.

The factory sig xchange kits are great. I have a .40 226. I primarily use my 9mm xchange kit with zero issues 1000s of rounds down range. It's a complete slide and barrel assembly so unlike barrel swap kits there are no extraction issues
