  • there goes my budget

In light of my permit becoming unrestricted, I was thinking about adding a new carry gun. Maybe a shield with no safety, but then I just cane across this.

New From SIG SAUER: Four New P220 10mm Pistols - The Truth About Guns

Not as a carry piece, but I feel like I must have it.

I've got a P220 reverse two tone Elite in .45 you're welcome to try out if you want to come to Orange Cnty sometime... I let Alistair try it and he quickly became a convert, lol...

Now that's a sweet pistol! Grab yourself a set of 10mm reloading dies while you're at it if you intend to shoot it alot, as manufactured 10mm ammo is expensive!

I've just always wanted a 10mm. I like the option of something other than a Glock or 1911. I was considering the EAA Witness in 10mm, but a 10mm Sig? Yes, please.

Well at least I can replace it with a 10mm now. That's not so bad

I just saw that article myself..... I have a P220R and easily my favorite.

However, my G20 (10mm) is quickly becoming a second favorite.... Combining the two would be awesome. Now to further complicate things, I just got home from Thruway Sporting Goods and handled a P227R and man it's sweet. Double stack 45acp the size of my P229R is a game changer. However, would be even cooler if the P227 also came in 10mm.

I miss my P220 carry dark elite. Get the short reset trigger.

Carry the gun you can shoot well. The gun you can absolutely always shoot and put rounds where you want should be your carry gun. Don't feel like you need to carry a subcompact. Start out with a full size, and if you eventually go to subcompacts thats fine. But that way if you ever feel the need to carry a full size it won't seem impossible to you.

I'm not looking for a first gun. I've got a p229 and love it. My carry has been a g26 for a few years now, and shoot it better than the Sig, and I like it a lot, but I'm not in love with it.
That, and I don't see myself carrying a full size 10mm, this would just be another range toy, and maybe for self defense against a bear (although in the woods I like to carry a revolver for no particular reason, it just feels right)

Ahh, I figured with your permit being unrestricted you probably didn't really carry daily. Sorry if I came off as condescending. I didn't know you already had a carry gun (and probably one of the most popular ones at that).

Best of luck with the new Sig.

No worries, I didn't take it that way. I haven't been carrying daily, but whenever possible.

You still totin' around a G17 IWB?

Yup. Plus two spare magazines in my front left pocket. My SHTFgear holster broke, and I shot them a message on another forum. Got it replaced with there Gen2 version.
