What seems to be making waves in the gun world?
I'm looking forward to seeing some of the new offerings from Dan Wesson. They make high end production 1911s, and they do it a stone throw from where I grew up. They are based in Norwich. I've been wanting their flagship 1911 the Valor for awhile. This year they are releasing a two tone in 45 and 10mm, called the Silverback. Their first 10mm was called the Razorback and was only offered in stainless so this seems to build on the following that the razorback garnered. The Valor is probably my next purchase, but the Silverback might be a good pistol to have when I go hiking after I move to hog territory. They are also releasing a CCO sized 1911 with hi power cuts. That doesn't appeal as much to me but I expect it will be a huge hit with DW groupies.
Glock is rumored to release the Glock 40 (Not to be confused with the imfamous Glawk Fowty). The G40 is apparently a longslide 10mm with a slide ready to mount a red dot. This could bring the 10mm cartridge around even more to those who hunt medium sized game. I'm worried however that it might suffer from the same 2x4 shape that the 21s started off with. I guess we'll see. A 10mm is a purchase I would love to make but its probably a long, long, time off. And when I eventually buy one I'm going to be secretly hoping for one of the Original XX of 150 guns that have the boar on the side which were originally ordered by 1911 forum members. Hey, a guy can dream.
Remington is supposed to unveil some new super secret shotgun, but I haven't the faintest clue about it.
I think it's gonna be a good year. My next two firearms are likely a 1911 and an M14 (don't start with selector lever semantics. The Army issued plenty of semiauto rifles too). So that's mainly the things I'm looking forward to seeing. But I don't think there is anything new really in the M14 realm.
