Handgun Mounted Light or Hand held light?

Just curious what all of your opinions are on this. I have the surefire x300 currently mounted on my Glock 19. I do it because I know the light is always there on the firearm so I don't have to worry about looking for a flashlight if I used it and set it down somewhere else.

So what do you do and why?

g19 TLR1s. Because I can walk around my house with it and still keep one hand on my junk.

Well im never one for a light on my handguns no matter how small they could be. Not just that i carry everyday most, its really not so neccesary in my view..point ahead and shoot if it was dark in your house, chances are if you need it your hitting them. You hat targets at a range much further then real life scenario most the time.

In my mind the light is beneficial for identifying your target. I don't like the light mounted on my pistol because if someone is going to shoot at you they will be shooting at the light. But like I said I rather risk that and always have it there on the gun when I need it at home.

I can not really comment on having a light on any gun,but I sure it has it's good and bad about them,one of the goods is to identifying your subject before shooting,the bad is giving your position away as gives the enemy a good target to shoot at.

Now the reason I say that is most of time when your shooting you will have the light directly in front of you at all times so this would make you a good target to get shot at,now I can also see where the light would be handy as it could blind your enemy if the light you have is very bright which most lights would be.

Now where I think the light would be really good is if your hunting such for coyotes and raccoons and also can protecting you from unwanted predators..

I am going to inteoduce a new idea. Keep a standatd small light that you can use in any gun and all oher guns and mounts s ghost should work in any and also quickly detachable. Preparing for a task in advance keep a second light and also a head hands free light. Night vision provides a tactical advantage if thugs are intruding in darkness.

I have a Glock light on my G21 but also have a big metal and a couple smaller flashlights on/near gun safe

I use a hand held light. The one and only reason is that I want the light to move independently from the muzzle so that I can avoid sweeping non-targets.

What's that for when you got a weak bladder in the middle of the night?? Or when you come back from the bar with beer goggles and a chick but you don't wanna look up??
