  • Looking for .45 caliber

I have very little handgun experience with most of my experience firing Glock 17 (9mm), but thanks to Cgrutt I had the opportunity to fire a Sig 220 (.45 cal) yesterday. I found this a very comfortable gun to hold and fire.
I would like to ask those with more experience; how would the Sig compare to the Glock 21 or other 45 cal handguns?
High Peaks Guru, but prefers twin peaks

we will need a separate class for my wife and for my girlfriend.

Yeah, you're screwed now. The Sig is awesome, but so is the Glock 30SF, XDS, and just about any 1911. Have fun collecting them.

Can you confirm what model P220 you have?

I've fired the Sprinfield XD in 9mm and liked it.
Until yesterday I was planning my second gun to be a S&W 686 (.357) but now I'm not sure

You need a 1911, LOL. Actually you need 7 or more of them.
Our deployment guns came in from Sig (1911) the other day and I cannot wait to get it on my license so I can pick it up.

I have no Glocks so I can't offer a comparison but I can tell you this: Took my brother shooting (sshhhh....he's not a gun owner) and he shot my 45's, the Ruger 1911 and a Sig 227 (basically a double stack 220). He kept coming back to the Sig, said it was very comfortable, easy to shoot as a rookie, and he shot it really well. I pretty much had to pry it out of his hands so he didn't run through my whole ammo stash. As much as I love shooting the 1911 and my other guns, the Sigs (Sig Pro 2022 in 9mm is the other) just "work" for me. They fit my hand well, shoot exactly where I point them, and feel like a natural extension of my arm. The only downside is that SIg's aren't the least expensive option as far as handgun ownership goes. I've shot the G21 and it's on my short list but the gun budget is pretty skinny until tax time next year.
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

              I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

Love my Glock 21 Gen3 but if I bought another it would be a Gen4. It has smaller grip.
I also have a Glock 30S. My EDC when I think a bigger hole would be better

The Sig 220 was an absolute gem, but it was my 2nd favorite. CG's Colt 1911 was my favorite.

CG, my challenge, should you decide to accept, work those Trijicon's and get me out there again. That could easily be my next sidearm.

Looks like a nice gun and its local. Note its not the Elite model. Difference is mainly serrations on slide and integrated rail for light etc but probably shoots the same.
