  • Archon Type D

I've always been intrigued by the Archon Type B. The lockup mechanism, bore axis, and trigger all seem to be awesome. But, they're hard to find and expensive. Plus, if I am going to buy new pistol it would make the most sense to buy something smaller. My current carry pistol is on the larger size and not as comfortable to conceal as I'd like. So now Archon has introduced a the compact Type D and I really really really want one.

Dang it, the type D and type B might actually be the same size.

On the positive side, it looks like the new frames have modular grips that can be made different lengths depending on how they're configured. So all excited, but not sure i can call it a 'need' yet.

It sounds like you're torn between the excellent features of the Archon Type B and the practicality of a more concealable carry pistol. The new Archon Type D could be a great solution!

While the Type B boasts impressive design elements, the Type D offers a compact version that might be more comfortable for everyday carry. If concealability is a major concern, the Type D is definitely worth considering.

I'm not sure they're actually different in size. I think the big difference is that the D lacks the forward slide cutout of the B.

You're spot on about the Archon Type B! They have great features but can be tough to find and pricey. It sounds like you're looking for a more concealable option for everyday carry. Since your current pistol is larger, the new Archon Type D compact might be a perfect fit. It offers the same high-performance features of the Type B in a smaller size, making it more comfortable to carry concealed.
