      I'm trying to get to the point where I can compete with my father. He shoots at 50 feet, so that's why I'm interested in moving the target back.

When shooting rifles I have to close my right eye but shooting handguns I keep both eyes open. You have to consciously Peshitta focus to your dominate eye but it definitely helps to force you into focusing on that front sight.
