Ok took the first rifle out to range today to shake it down a bit. Put 100 rds down range with no issues in cycling. The only round that didn't eject was when I turned gas block all the way down/closed to start tuning it in.
The only issue I had was with the bolt catch. With one mag (plastic but forget brand) bolt catch would work every time on empty mag. On 4 other mags (all steel Stoner AR mags) bolt catch would not engage. Did not have any other mags to try so I'll scare up a few others for next outing.
Any ideas what's going on? I did some research and keep coming up with bolt catch could be out of spec. What say you all?
BTW - I tried all 5 mags in another rifle when I got home. All 5 hold bolt back when empty.Last edited by Calculon; 10-10-2016, 08:13 PM.Ok I can go a couple ways

Did you ever find a faux suppressor?
Bullet Guy had them when I stopped at his place on Saturday."I ask, Sir, what is dinner? It is the whole chicken. To pluck the chicken is the best and most effectual way to prepare them."
Colonel Sanders
That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!
I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.
I could have been enjoying his nuts.

Maybe have a few of the same people come to the range with you at each equipment upgrade to give a broader test sample. Also it might be helpful at each upgrade post what you plan and we as a group could come up with good test parameters. Very interesting thread hope you follow up on it!
