  • Pro Suppressor Legislation?!?!?

I've caught bits and pieces of this news recently and a Recoil article about the legislation piqued my curiosity. Of all the NFA items our friends in free states can enjoy, suppressors are the only one that I'm really interested in. Surely this proposed legislation wouldn't allow those of us living in New Yorkistan to own suppressors. Would it?

I decided some more reading was in order. After a quick google search I discovered this article describing the legislation:

    http://www.guns.com/2015/10/22/bill-...fa-regulation/

While the bill is short in text, an important provision would allow for federal preemption of suppressor regulation over state laws, which would have the effect of keeping suppressors legal in states whose laws specifically mention that only those registered under the NFA are allowed.
Could it be?!?!? Could residents of the gulag that is New Yorkistan be allowed to purchase suppressors?

If so then this is seriously going to impact my budget for next year.

Hoping this isn't a tease. If New Yorkistan decides to keep them illegal in the gulag then will this lead to an interesting court case? I'd love to see new federal regulations slap down the stupid New York firearm laws.

Just read quote but seems it only applies to states that allow NFA registered items, no?

I'm not entirely sure what the New York state law is on NFA items. I know you need to get approval for NFA items and New Yorkistan basically refuses to give approval. If NFA approval is no longer needed..... then it would be a matter of New York State law saying they're still not legal.

      Which it does..... Crap. :Banghead:
