Wow. F uck all that, you basically can't carry a firearm ANYWHERE. And jumping through all those hoops for current holders to rectify? Kiss my hairy azz b itch!

Think I'll just haul the remainder of my long guns south and let my permit expire. Go ahead and suck on that Kathy!

16 ****ing hours of training with at least 2 hours of live fire. Live fire that you can’t do if you don’t yet have a permit. This is stupid.

how much is that going to cost for the training? Plus the ammo (if you can find it) for 2 hours of training. That’s going to be what, $500 every 3 years? Tell me how that’s not a poll tax.

Also training is one time thing I think. Even people with permit now will have to do training before re certification but only once

I’ll have to read the actual law now that it’s actually passed. What saw didn’t have an exemption for training. BUT, whose gun do you use for the training? I can’t train with a gun I don’t have.

That's a thought but I'd just as soon not let the NYSP update their database with my current inventory; more a matter of principle at this point. Wonder how long it'll take them to realize I didn't recertify.....and then what's next? Do they come looking to confiscate my guns? Good luck with that!

I would just recertify with whatever is on your NYS permit and call it a day personally.

My permit doesn't have an expiration date on it. The state has already demonstrated they're incompetent at setting up the IT infrastructure to let cops check this stuff. Worst that happens: become the next NY Scotus case.

So I have to ask about non compliance.... It seems there are two classes of citizens. The left and the right.

Non compliance for gun control that is clearly unconstitutional is not likely to be tolerated.
                ??????
non compliance on the left with abortion law is fine and supported by even google!

Would this not be destruction of evidence regardless of your thoughts on the law? It's being done so openly as well.

Kind of makes me sick that there is no fairness.

I'm curious to hear whether the local DAs are going to say anything about it. In solid conservative counties I wouldn't be surprised if they made public statements about it. In other areas they might just quietly tell law enforcement not to arrest people under these laws.
