    US District Court Strikes Down New York’s Ban on TASERs and Stun Guns

    Taser/stun gun ban was declared unconstitutional based upon Heller in MA 3 years ago (https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/20...aulsen/392843/), surprised it took this long for someone to bring suit in NY.

    All that shows up in the preview is "US District Court Strikes Down New York’s Ban on" and I got all excited.

    It wasn't what I hoped it would be, but striking down any NY ban is a move in the right direction.

      More good news today: Breaking: Illinois judge throws out the Village of Deerfield’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” and “large-capacity magazines” in NRA-supported case. The court’s decision is a huge win for all Illinois gun owners.

              My daughter just became corrections worker and she needed to be tazed and pepper sprayed as part of the training.

              Pepper spraying looks brutal. Tasing looks more tolerable. Yeah, you're completely incapacitated, but is it painful?

                so we were in a Dicks in idaho this summer (f*ck dicks btw), but they had some tazers there that were only like $16! couldn't believe the price point. dang

                anyway, are paintball style guns w/ pepperballs legal in ny? had a gaggle of teens hanging around my truck last night, and they were apparently doing "ding dong ditch" all around the neighborhood last night. I scared them from my property real quick with about 380 lumens. they were just being silly unsupervised kids, no harm done. but it got me thinking about if a group was being more problematic in our neighborhood and I needed to escalate my topless response while still remaining way less-than-lethal, pepperballing them would be an awesome option to have from a little distance.

                Back in the day when I was into paintball, I was warned that penalties were pretty harsh for crimes committed with a paintball gun. My assumption is that if just shooting people with paintballs is a criminal offense, pepper balls wouldn't make it less of a crime.

                Paintballs hurt enough on their own. If you're looking to disperse a bunch of teens, I doubt you'd need anything more than traditional paintballs.



                So I typed all of that out, then googled, and now I'm amazed at the different products available. No idea how many of them will ship to New Yorkistan.

                  certainly good points and I agree with all.
                  but pepperballs don't even need to make contact to have a pretty awesome effect (so i read). just seems like an awesome upgrade for the ol' homestead.
                  doesn't look like anyone will ship to us, so that probably confirms my concerns on legalities.

                  on a side note I know someone that got in big trouble throwing water balloons, so i understand how much of a nannystate we live in... (yeah without context that sounds ridiculous, but it at least made a little more sense in context, still it's a goddamn water balloon).
