  • CCW Gets Fired For Saving Woman's Life

Props to the carrier for acting fast and saving a life. If this story gains traction GM might have a bit of a PR mess on their hands.

“The lady kept saying ‘I’m dying, someone help’ and it was just a natural reaction,” Sarder told WJBK-TV. “I just see this lady getting stabbed. I only had, like, half a second to think and I unholstered my firearm and pointed it at her to drop the knife.”

Sarder ordered the 32-year-old attacker to freeze until she was arrested by police.

Once the situation was under control, Sarder said a fellow GM employee ordered him to be removed from the site.

“He said, ‘You shouldn’t have had a firearm here. After this is done he needs to be escorted off the property. He’s not welcome back here.’ I was really bummed out. I got a little emotional,” Sarder recalled.

Wow that's horrible, at least the employee should feel better knowing that atleast they were fired for saving a life instead of keeping their job watching one be taken.

Totally agree. I'm pretty sure watching someone get murdered and not helping would haunt most people far more than losing a job.

Granted, it could depend on the job.

Word has it that he wasn't actually fired.

So I got thinking more about this last night: What does it say about General Motors that they have a freaking valet service? And not only a valet service, but a large enough valet service that this guy was a valet service supervisor? Just sayin.......

Not standing behind GM by any stretch of the imagination, however, I'm guessing the valet department probably assumes responsibility for driving the newly manufactured cars off the assembly line to the parking field.

I'll take that as the most logical explanation, thanks!

The stabbing occurred just outside the main entrance of the central office building where the victim works. Police said the suspect came to see the employee, and what began as an argument in the lobby quickly turned into the scene Sarder witnessed.
Doesn't sound like it was a manufacturing facility. Fox reported he worked at the GM Technical Center in Warren, Michigan.

He wasn't employed by GM, either. He is/was employed by a company that was contracted by GM. GM has said that they never requested that he be fired. If anything, this is on the company that has the contract.

So instead of heralding the hero they elect to castigate him. Surely sounds like a hoplophobe is in charge.

                          Some encouraging news:

                          http://www.breitbart.com/big-governm...heroism-award/

So MLive reports that Sarder was indeed fired for “using a legally concealed firearm in violation of company policy” but “later rehired.” He is now in line for an award. Mayor Fouts said he believes Sarder “should have been rewarded” instead of fired to begin with, and he plans to show the video of Sarder intervening to save Kerr’s life as part of the heroism award presentation.
