Stainless Ruger Old Army.45 that I bought back in 1986. Remember that I could load it very hot. Had a better kick than a .44mag. Been shooting a smoke pole for years, lots of fun. For starters I would get a CVA 50 cal. with shotgun primer ignition. Get triple 7 powder and you can clean it with warm soapy water. Get power belt bullets, you can get quite a few shots with them before they get hard to load due to fouling. Skip the sabots for now, powerbelts are much cleaner but disintegrate in a deer leaving a lousy blood trail. Move to the sabots with good bullets if your going to hunt with it.I'm no proctologist, but I know an azzhole when I see one!!Comment

I am looking into making my own black powder. Then looking into calibers and fierarms taht will take it well in a shtf mode.
