  • Writing reviews

I thought I would start this thread for myself and others.

What do you look for in review's of firearms? If I get out shooting enough I might start writing some.

Nice! I'll make you a deal, write one up and I'll do one too (see what I did there, lol). Seriously great idea. This could be such an awesome forum if people just did more of this, LOL...

I'll do something after the shoot on the 26th. I'll see if I can grab a SOCOM 16 .308 with an EOTech.

Price, reliability/accuracy across different ammo types, ergonomics, anything unique or unusual. If possible great to compare to a similar popular alternative (eg Glock vs. M&P). This is difficult for us average Joes as we can't own everything on the market although we'd like to.

Ok I can go a couple ways

We tried quite a few subjects and nothing really sticks. I know it is kind the chicken and the egg but something else
has to change that has nothing to do with reviews or viable content.

Those searching online for info regarding whatever the associated review pertains to. Hopefully their search leads them to AA to increase traffic.

Ok, Lets say one gets lucky and someone stops by to read a review of the dozens of reviews we have online.
What made them choose that review and follow through?
then after they are done what is making them to stick around?
I am asking because we had people that came and didn't stick around, why?

I am not being critical, I am just tying to make people think. The path to discovery is filled with voids that need to be filled.

Hard to understand w/o a vision, at least for me.

Why because most people are lurkers , what gets them to stick around or come back? Activity.

Reviews are meant to be helpful to people and maybe ask questions to add content and more importantly get more active. Without activity nothing else really matters IMO.

kind of the chicken and the egg I was mentioning. ...So what kind of reviews are you looking for? firearms, outdoors, electronics?
It he menu system and outline going to change?

Yes! Any review can potentially drive traffic. Whether the forum content is what the searcher is looking for can't be our concern. ie: if someone writes a review about a flashlight it obviously has relevance across various categories (camping, home use, self defense, construction, LEO, boating, electronics, children's use, etc). The review remains the same but the other content on the site might not gel with the searchers other interests. The review itself just adds the content to increase the percentages that the searcher might be someone who'd ultimately become a contributing long term member.
