  • Dave and Busters Pro 2A

We just had one open up and was checking out website and saw the have a firearms policy.

No OPEN CARRY. Nice that they made it know to pistol permit holders they are OK to carry as long as it's concealed.

Sure seems to specify through omission that concealed is ok. Nice 🔫 Although concealed is concealed

I would disagree and consider their policy to actually be anti-2A: if open carry is legal in your state, and you open carry, then this rule prevents you from exercising your 2A right in a manner of your choosing. Even more so if open carry is legal in your state but CCW requires a permit.

I respect your opinion usmc but I think this is just another example of our fvcked up attitudes due to be being immersed in the liberal politics of a left wing state. Folks in dozens of other states (free America) would be boycotting this company because of this policy and yet we think they should be commended for implicitly allowing CCW because open carry is a completely foreign concept to us. Just my .02.

Sadly, you are probably right. But is this a national policy for the chain or just a policy for the Rochester location? A restaurant like that operating inside New York State and making it pretty clear to concealed carriers that they are allowed to carry inside their store is a good thing. Open carry isn't legal here, and plenty of businesses have stated policies prohibiting even concealed carry. We're in a far from ideal situation in New York, but I'm going to choose to look at this as a glass being half full rather than half empty.

If Dave & Busters were truly anti-gun, they would just say firearms are strictly prohibited. They're walking a fine line on the issue as many business have to in order to survive in today's culture.

Fair enough but I feel if a business is truly 2A friendly they should either not post anything or just state that: "We follow state and local laws regarding firearms on our premises".

I'm just so sick and tired that this is even an issue. What if they posted a sign proclaiming: "No open discussion of religion permitted except by uniformed members of the clergy". I'm just sayin......

I thing t. Has a point. If they are pro Gun they could simply say: illegal firearms are not permited. this sounds stupid but it targets the thugs vs anyone else.
It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

For what's it worth this was pulled from the Rochester location policies, I did not check other states where open carry is legal.

I just went to Texas and they made no mention of firearms so the policy I posted above is specifically for Rochester NY and not rest of country.

Just checked some random store policies in various states:

                    Florida- mentions no OPEN CARRY
                    Tenn- mentions nothing about firearms
                    Ohio- no OPEN CARRY
                    Minnesota- no OPEN CARRY
                    Arizona- mentions nothing about firearms

Clearly this is a policy that varies by state.

having gone there i can say that you'll probably feel better if you are carrying.

it is comical to people watch and observe the want to be thugs playing shoot'emup arcade games with the craziest hand positions on the "controllers" ever.

it's worth mentioning that this is also in the mall, and i think the mall has it's own rules as well.

Buffalo NY has no policy either so I think it's by specific location

The mall prohibits firearms with the exception of legally owned CCW holders.
