Still on the Subject of CC...

I've been looking for an IWB holster, but hadn't made any decisions. In experimenting with different locations/positions for the gun, I found the most comfortable for me is to have the grip pretty much vertical, putting the barrel at an angle. Like this:



So I've been searching for something that will accommodate. Found this one. http://aliengearholsters.com/review/...t/list/id/177/ But I want it to rotate even more, so I can sit without the barrel digging into the front of my thigh, and so I can conceal the grip better. Any suggestions or recommendations for a holster that will do what I want?

Alien Gear makes some super comfy holsters, I love mine. In this case, the IWB Alien Gear is not going to work well for appendix carry (which is pretty much what looks like is going to work for you).

I have a couple of these in the tactical model (kydex as opposed to elastic). Sadly the one for your revolver does not come in kydex so reholstering is an issue but on the plus side the elastic madels are far less bulky.

I would also suggest you research appendix carry rigs......

Hey swill, I hate to say this, but, I don't know any person who CC's and doesn't have a myriad of holsters. Every person likes something just a bit different as far as comfort is concerned. There is no 'one size fits all', so to speak. I prefer to carry OWB at 3 o'clock to partially 3:30. I find it is out of the way for walking, sitting, standing, even reclining. You obviously prefer it IWB at about 1 o'clock. I've got 3 OWB holsters and 1 shoulder rig for my .40. I also have 2 OWB for my .357. Bottom line, I think you're going to have to try a variety of holsters before you finally settle on the one that 'fits like a glove'.

So far I've found out that this position is called 'extreme cant' - that's the good news - and that the holsters I've found for it are $116 and $175 - that's bad news. thughes, thanks for the info on the AlienGear. If only the clip rotated on the other holster!

The original style tucks in your waistband so you put it wherever most comfortable (e.g. appendix, etc). Original style normally goes for $25 but now on sale for $17 so worth trying. Like masterswimmer says you will likely end up with several holsters per firearm until you find your favorite. Think of them like shoes...

Also, here are a couple of videos on CC from a woman on youtube that is in to firearms. She does great equipment reviews as well. I got my wife to watch it (after I watched it once or twice ) when she was getting her license to show her that it can be done if you make slight alterations to your style of dress. She has not yet adapted to carrying on a regular basis but I keep encouraging her.

One question I have: Are you looking to carry this particular firearm or are you looking just to carry in general? I am concerned that you are trying to force the issue of carrying this particular gun, maybe in an effort to justify it's purchase? If it's just about carrying, get yourself something that makes sense for your petite frame, like a Nano/Sig 238/BG380/etc and one of these: http://www.unclemikes.com/holsters/c...-pant-holsters to stuff inside your waistband and tuck your shirt in over top of or a remora and stick it in your pocket.

For comfort of revolver carry, I'd suggest a belly band SOB type. I carry my .38 there cause you don't even feel it and you have total movement without it jabbing into your gut and ribs like the pic posted..the one problem with SOB is driving or sitting in a desk chair for long..but I'm always on my feet after my commute so that don't affect me nodda

Just fair warning to SOB carriers....if you get knocked to your ass, you can suffer serious spinal cord injuries. I also wanted to carry SOB, but decided against it after reading some horror stories. Granted odds are against it happening, but if it does, the problems can be life altering, without a shot being fired.

That last video was really helpful, and she has the SP101 with 3" barrel, too! It's amazing how what works for one person isn't great for another. I tried and tried at the 4- and 5 o'clock positions, but couldn't hide it like she can. To be fair, I wasn't using a holster, either, but just tucking it inside my waistband. I don't wear a lot of skirts, but might be convinced to buy a bunch and get a thigh holster.

thughes, I considered the Nano, since I love my PX4 so much, but my hands are too big. It was really awkward to hold and I felt like I didn't have a secure grip on it.
