  • How long for firearms to become collectors items?

I know it all depends and not all firearms will become collectors items but how long does it take for those that do?

I have a Sig p226 blackwater special edition that I'm hanging onto expecting to become worth more in future
Its not the tactical one and the one I have came with wood grips and 5 magazines.
www.AvidArms.com I'm STIHL out of conditioner!!
Finally joined the ranks of broke homeowner
Am I short stroking or going to fast?

I know he has a bush

this is subjective to many things other than time. Market changes, discontinued models, even a movie can affect that. ....many folks rushed to get a make my day revolver.
It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

I would venture that your backwater edition will never become a collectors item, only because the sig 226 is a popular gun, you might be able to get a premium for it over the average 226, kind of like the next upgraded model of a vehicle. Do you know how many black water editions were released? What is the difference between it and a regular 226? I have a para ord 1911 blackwater slide assembly which I will build on caspian frame. Obviously someone has decided that para's blackwater edition will never become collectable.

My son has a Dale Ernhart junior edition of the remington 597, he never wanted to shoot it because of the logo on the stock. That is the only difference in the DEJr model and the regular one. I convinced him he should enjoy the gun on the range instead of keeping it in the safe.

They had two versions and mine was original. If you look online people still want them. I think the frame was made in Germany as well and slide in USA.

In 1991 I bought a SKS for $69.00 that I could sell for $600.00 now. In 2003 I bought two AK parts kits brand new with barrels and matching numbers for $49.00 each that would go for $500.00 today. If only I could of seen into the future!
I bought my sons out of state.

OK so price will go up on most guns with inflation and legislation.
