I've been perusing the sales and rifle kits on the PSA website the past few weeks. There are some smoking deals, but there are also some things that make me curious. There are a lot of uppers for sale with barrel lengths of less than 16 inches. Uppers aren't firearms so they can be shipped anywhere without an FFL required. With so many options available, I can't help but wonder how many PSA sells. Of the number that PSA sells, are the majority going onto pistol builds with some people getting the tax stamp to build an SBR?

Or..... are there lots of people just saying screw the NFA I'll shoot what I want?

Actually I get all those emails too. I guess there are a lot of people building pistols (perfectly legal in free states, gotta lose that NY state of mind!).

I'm a little fuzzy on the weight limits, but there have been a number of fixed magazine AR pistols at the past two Rochester gun shows.

Depending on length, you can also permanently pin a long flash hider (not in NY, obviously) to hit the minimum length.

I figured prices must be at about rock bottom when I bought my kit. Now they've got some even cheaper carbine kits for sale. I like the configuration I bought, but for someone just looking for a cheap first AR, there are some super inexpensive carbine kits for sale.
