I haven't really ruled anything out at this point, although I would like to keep it to something that can be bought off the shelf (I do want to get into reloading, it's just not in the cards right now).

Then I think 6.8 is the ticket. That is the best "easy" caliber proven over and over. I suggest a 18" barrel and bolt from ARP.
