Saw this and thought it was pretty smart. Instead of building something from scratch use a large picture , backer, hinges and hooks and your golden.

Looks good, but I get offended when someone hangs the american flag backwards.
Also, those are 'J' hooks, not 'L' hooks.
Otherwise looks like it could work.
