I'm going to pass this on to my boss, he's in the middle of setting up a huge saltwater tank at the office.
I bought my sons out of state.

Thanks GS, let him know I'm an ex-builder as well. My ability to design and plan go hand in hand with my reefing abilities.

Great having you... I used to have a 30 gallon tank freshwater and always wanted a saltwater setup. Maybe once the deli gets settled in I can have a tank set at home.

I hope he builds tanks better than he shoots, cause I've seen him shoot...

            ... and he's awesome!

            Seriously, recommended without hesitation.

lol, if the broad side of a barn is the new definition of awesome, then we have a match.

I do pride myself on setting up successful reefs though. It does take a certain panache.

Freshwater? Saltwater? Both? Great hobby. I'm guessing you don't have those set up now since you said you 'used' to have them.

It's very important to use aquarium safe silicone. Typical silicone from HD & Lowe's will have mildewcides and anti-fungals. These can be toxic to fish. Here's a link to the silicone we use:

Perfecto Silicone Sealant Clear 10 oz

I don't build tanks, but I do build chambered sumps with off the shelf tanks.

If you have any questions, lmk, I'd be honored to help.

BTW, are you talking about a brine shrimp culture? or are you referring to brackish water, like African Cichlids?

They were fresh water. The 90 gal had south americans and the the 55 was africans. The 30 was albino sharks, clown loaches and stuff like that.

The only FW fish I'd go back to (if I ever defected ) would be cichlids. SA and African are great. Specifically I liked Lake Tanganyika cichlids. Great body shapes. Lake Malawi were basically all the same body with different colorations.

Firemouth is one of my favorites. What a personality they have. I actually had a few pike I really liked. They got real big and no one messed with them. Also one of these.
