    Might just be a county thing? I have a hard time believing Monroe county would give me a hard time as long as the serial number was the same. Could be wrong though since I have my S&W listed with .38/.357 as the caliber. It's only listed that was because that's what I told the clerk it was. I doubt the clerk would have cared or had any idea if I'd just listed it as .38.

      In Orange County you have to register each different caliber barrel on our permit.
