  • Holster Review - Part Two

Top notch customer service from Pistol Wear on the return of the PT2 with the snap issue. I had mentioned the Ruger in one email, and they told me their data showed that the PT2 was on the small side for the SP101. Because I hadn't picked up the gun yet, I told them the size looked fine, but that I'd trust their judgement. They ended up sending both the PT2 and the larger PT-ONE, with an envelope and pre-paid label to return the defective one, and which ever one I didn't choose.

The SP101 (mine has the 3" barrel), fits beautifully, and I didn't find drawing a problem at all. This holster was designed to be used when you're active, and it does that really well. The belt is amazingly comfortable, and the gun doesn't really bounce around while I was running (through the house, since it's cold outside, lol). I found it easy to draw, too, while I was carrying the pouch in front.

As for conceal-ability; not so great on my body with the type of clothing I would typically wear to exercise. I'd be very willing to change running gear, though, to make this work since it's doing it's job well. Here are a couple photos. (While the striped shirt isn't one of my running shirts, it's similar in fit, so I didn't bother to change. You can see that the sweater almost hides it. Kind of makes it look like I'm sticking my hip out, though I'm not. My zip-front jacket should do the trick, but it's in NY right now. In the last photo, the gun is inside the holster. This gives you an idea of how well the fabric hides the overall shape of the gun.

Honestly S, don't get so hung up on appearances. You look great and that's all anybody would ever see... Carry on in confidence.

This ^. The average person wandering this world with eyeballs glued to cell phone, completely immersed in their own little world is not going to notice anything. The stripped shirt appears to hide just fine, the sweater would probably be fine too if you left it unbuttoned and were wearing something underneath to cover the holster.

Or......gain 30 pounds and start wearing a mumu!
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

      I get a boner.

Agree with the above but wanted to mention you should just play with the position more. You may find a position that works better. Not sure if can adjust cant but definitely location (height & front to back)

Wow that's not what I expected in terms of how it fits in there. I wonder if they could just take the snap and move it to the inside in some way to eliminate that little bump. But I guess one could just wear it right in front and maybe people will think you're an outtie instead of concealing a .357...

Honestly, the snap isn't even needed. Because the fit is snug, and the fabric has some stretch, unless you're doing handstands, the gun isn't going to come out of there.

This - so "task oriented" they wonder around like zombies - if we were muggers we'd be rich.

I always go with two layers (2XL shirt & vest) over the holster (IWB) and T-shirt underneath. Loosen the sweater and you should be good to go. Practice your draw with an UNloaded gun (like I need to mention that!) so if you ever do get caught out, it's pure gross muscle memory to draw and present.

Every day I carry, which is 99.99% of the time, I try a few draw and present strokes with the "uniform of the day" to be everything is where it should be.
