Sounds like the charging after cancelled part happened from the 5 day waiting period to clear and the lack of communication from the sales department from the accounting/legal department..and a string of bad luck..cause I love Buds

S demand your bank fees back and a letter apologizing for the mistaken charge that you can give to the people who had your checks returned. You were following Bud's process and they screwed up. While the letter may not help your payees recover any fees they may have been charged, at least you can try to preserve goodwill with them. Trust me, I was in retail banking for many years and it's amazing how many people bounce checks regularly and companies have heard every story in the book blaming someone else. Very few people make the effort to show it truly was not their fault and you remember the ones that do.
Ok I can go a couple ways

At least I have overdraft protection, so the only charges were from my bank - not any merchants that I made payment to. Still... going to call Bud's today and see what they say.

They say nothing they can do. If shipping had been to NY, the system wouldn't have processed the order. Because shipping address was okay, order initially went through and was billed, then was picked up after that for the billing address. Chalk it up to another reaming by NY State.

So there saying they can't do anything because their system failed to stop your order because it didn't match up with their policies? I would demand my charges be refunded because THEY failed causing you financial harm. They charged you the money and took it which you did not force them to do.

I thought about raising more of a stink than I did, but it was very apparent that nothing was going to happen. The end result would have been me being aggravated over something I couldn't change. So I ended up paying the same amount as I would have had I bought the gun somewhere else. The extra $ would have been nice, but live and learn.

Picked up my Walther from Grabagun last week. Local FFL does a brisk transfer business and only charges $15 for the first item and $5 for each additional item. Love Ohio.
