NRA Basic Pistol Training available

For anyone that's interested, I and two of my colleagues are certified NRA Basic Pistol Instructors, among other things. Just an FYI: the NRA basic pistol course WITH live fire fulfills several requirements in the Tri-State area, including, but not limited to:

1. Putnam County requirement for upgrading to a full carry (the other is a safe bolted to the floor of your residence)
2. It can assist with upgrading to an unrestricted permit in Orange County (it certainly can't hurt, as it demonstrates to the judge a commitment to safety through further education and training)
3. Connecticut requirement for a Non-resident Permit (CT DPS actually checks the course certificate credentials with the NRA database of certified instructors to see if its legit)

and many others...

For now, send my a PM here until the protocol for "authorized vendors" and their shameless plugs is worked out, lol

Maybe USMC can set up a Panzer thread under training with your info. Would also like to set up a Firefly thread with Bob's info. Can we lock it and just give them access to modify? Sorry probably should have been in the "Super Secret Squirell Admin thread" but what do I know, lol...

I am not in your area but do you set up predetermined classes or are you willing to do small groups on request?

I do appreciate the support, and I also would like to see more upstanding people able to carry concealed responsibly. To further that goal, the courses are currently scheduled as needed. We can provide the following:

NRA Home Firearms Safety
NRA First Steps Pistol (no live fire with an actual handgun for initial permitees inside NYS)
NRA Basic Pistol with live fire (conducted for current permit holders in NYS or conducted for anyone outside NYS...yes, you can go to other states and do the live fire legally)

There are other firearms courses that I'll list shortly, along with non-firearm curriculum that we're authorized to instruct by various agencies.

I have my unrestricted carry permit (Orange County) and would be interested in further training ..... maybe the NRA Defensive Pistol class. Can you teach this?
