I want to start reloading some old GP11 brass for my K31 swiss rifle. I am looking for some large rifle Berdan primers. I don't need 5,000 primers, which is the norm online. I am looking for a box (1000).
Randall, if you've found them in bulk but "don't need 5000 primers" let me know, I'll go in on them with you (50/50 split, 60/40, 70/30, whatever). I've got a PePeshittata-ton of GP11 brass I'd like to reload. BTW, if you want to reload 7.5 Swiss but don't want to dick with Berdan primers, Graff and Sons has brand new PPU brass that uses standard LRP (great stuff, I bought a few hundred rounds when I got my first Swiss rifle).

That sounds like a good plan. I have some PPU brass. It's just hard to stomach purchasing brass when I have 300+ pieces of GP11 brass sitting in my reloading room. I'll do some research and get back to you.
Question. Why not just get a swager and convert to Boxer?
A bit more to it than just a simple swager but I think worth the effort considering I have several hundred rounds of spent brass, might give it a try over the Winter: http://parallaxscurioandrelicfirearm...d#.VaVjlZMk7aQ
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own
I have to bend over too far
I get a boner.
bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

Thanks for the link Hughes! I've never done it but I do have a bunch of brass from Berdan. Honestly I have only reloaded with Boxer. I still have some learnin to do.
If Mek is reloading with Berdan its probably too complicated for the average dude lol. Seriously ive heard its a PITA too getting flash holes prepped etc. Haven't done it personally so don't rely on me but just passing along some info. I've got some of this brass too BTW.
There is no mistery about berdan reloading. Only the right tool and an extra step to decap the primers. The best way is a hydraulic die and mandrel and then let the cases dry. For resizing one uses the same dies wo the decaping pin. Some berdan brass is ok for many reloads and a good way to feed special and vintage calibers. Again norhing too special just some extra steps/work and the proper tools.
So what are your thoughts on conversion? I have a large supply of GP-11 brass and standard Boxer LRP's, would rather not mess with hydraulic decapping and purchasing Berdan primers.

I have a hydraulic decapping setup. I got it off ebay. It's a tube welded to a flat base. I was planning on resizing first. I thought you needed the decapping stem for the resizing process? I was going to grind off the decapping pin, but leave the main body of the stem.

This discussion probably belongs in reloading
You do need the stem and mandrel to size the inside of the neck, just remove the decapping pin....
