Awesome! Good luck to you! That's in my neck of the woods. I've been in there, though it's gotten bigger since I was there last.

When you get the job, I recommend getting a place to the south of there, perhaps even just over the Greene Co. line. Traffic and taxes will be less.

That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!

I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.

I could have been enjoying his nuts.

That used to be in my neck of the woods also. I used to live in delmar and graduated from bethlehem high.

idk what I would do about moving etc. Getting this job may be the end of my relationship. The old lady isnt gonna wanna move back down there since she works in queensbury at her dads accounting firm and her parents and sister both live within walking distance from us currently. Tough decisions

Well that makes the decision a bit harder.

Regardless, stay away from the Town of Bethlehem for a place to live. It's run by tax loving Democrats now. They raised the assessment on some vacant land my brothers and I own by 400%, but claim they aren't raising our taxes (it's just the assessment).. YEAH RIGHT! See ya in court, *******s!

After I graduated in 2000 my parents split up. around 2004 my mother wanted to move back to delmar but when she found out some taxes were 8-10k on smaller homes in town she couldnt do it.

yea the G/F thing makes for a not so pleasent situation at the moment. I would be already in vermont commuting to my current job without her. I would much prefer to move outta NY then get a new job here but I think I need a decent job 1st that pays to be able to do that. If I do get this job I have a feeling its gonna end my relationship as I cannot handle a 3 hour commute every day.

Ut oh .... ya know what this would mean right?? MORE TIME TO FISH ON WEEKENDS AND BE OUT IN THE BOATS!!! I hope you get this job AND the other can realize that something may have to change. If I remember correctly, as I carried that 1,500lb air conditioner down those stairs by myself, you moved there because SHE wanted to be close to her job right?? You did it. Now .... maybe it's time she returns the favor ..... hopefully.

I hope I get it to. I really need some change in my life that's for the better. This depressing rut is getting real old and it's all fueled by my crappy job. More time to fish and go boating would be really good. In fact is it warm out yet so we can go????

I just did a Google maps and it's only 58 minutes from here. I currently drive 40 so for a little while I could handle the extra 20 minutes. Best part is its a union job so no manditory overtime crap!!!! Do you shift and go home. If you want overtime you can have it but no manditory crap!!!

Found out more Info. It's actually not 65k to start but you should be there within 6 months. It's 21-23 an hour to start. You get a fast track to a grade 13 within about 6 months. The current guy who just moved up was making 70k as a grade 13. Pretty excited about that! Especially since I only made 52 this past year and worked 175 hours of manditory overtime

WM, if you are willing to commute 45 minutes each way, why not ask her to commute 45 minutes each way and relocate somewhere in between. That's if you really want to stay with her.

ahh but that won't work, cause then that nullifies the reason that he compromised in the first place lol!

yea the fast trax is nice to have..but you gotta think about the real world pay when you start out, 22$ an hour is really 14 to 16$ish after USA takes..as long as you can swing the everyday bills and live happily, go for it.

Well here is the deal. For the last 6 years we lived in Waterford. Was a 12 min ride to work for me but 50 min ride for her. So 1 year ago November we moved up by her work and her parents. We only live 1/2 mile from her parents and less than 3 miles from both her sisters and the kids. Also it's now only a 15 min drive for her to go to work. My ride to work is now 35 min but that's ok.

She is never gonna wanna move back down there away from the kids again. I've been pressuring her to move to vt but she won't do that even though her ride would only be 40 min and mine still 35ish. Also we got her a new car this last year because her old one had 204k on It and was finally gonna cost a bunch of money. So now she has a lease because she does not drove far anymore. So basically she has 3 years until she could even think about moving where she has to drive because of the lease

What's wrong with 22 an hour? It's almost what I make now and in a few months I'll be making more? You make it sound like that's poverty level. When your partner makes the same living isn't bad. If I had to make that in my own then things would probably be tight for a little while and no fun stuff but it's doable.

In NY .... $500,000/year is JUST above the poverty level. ****ing taxes!! I just accept being a broke ass, white trash, free ranging chicken and all is good!! I don't expect much in life. The only thing I can afford is to laugh BUT I hear that will be taxed in the next bill .... along with breathing. Live it up ****ers!!!
