    Wish Me Luck

    Got an insider tip that the PSEG power plant in glenmont was hiring an entry level position for the 1st time in years. It is a janitors position consisting of dusting, moving furniture and snow removal and lawn care. I applied only a few days ago and my phone just rang. Hopefully that is a good sign. From my insider I hear it starts at 65k. Best thing is these are all things I can do plus have a 2 year electrical degree. After 1 year in the janitor position you will have an opportunity to move up. Hopefully this will be my big break in life. Only issue is I am currently around a 1.5hr drive 1 way to the job. If I get the job then some serious life changes may be in order.

    Interview is monday at 1:45pm

        I've never seen a company move this fast so im hoping its a good sign. I know a janitor isn't exactly a great position but with a lot of these places that's where you start. With my electrical background I'll eventually make it into the plant where the big bucks are. It's not even really a janitors job even though they call it that...more like a grounds keeper etc.; I don't even care I just gotta get outta where I am.

            I tried getting in there years ago when I graduated and never worked out. Tried a lot of places but never worked out.

            Funny thing is the guy who told me about the job used to be my best friend. He dated a girl who's dad was a big shot there at the plant. He had no electrical knowledge etc. I just graduated with a electrical degree and on the presidents list. We both applied for a job there and guess what...he got it and not me...funny how that works!

                        Good luck man! Check out some real estate while you're there. 3 hours a day commute time will got hold in a hurry.

                              65K to start is nothing to sneeze at. If you land this I would suggest a move to get closer to work. The way they maintain the Northway I wouldn't trust a 1.5 hour ride not to turn into a 2 or 2.5 hour ride.
