Picked up 2 C&R today!

    Picked up 2 C&R today!

    Picked up some goodies today from my local FFL. First up is a numbers matching Russian SKS dated 1953 in very good shape. Stock has a few imperfections in the finish but nothing that concerns me. Second is an unissued/unfired 1955 Polish Mosin M44 that looks like it just rolled out of factory. Gorgeous and sure doesn't look like she's 61! SKS will hit the range after a cleaning and M44 will enjoy a place of honor in the safe for now.

      Couple of beauties! I'm afraid to send my C&R paperwork in. It has a high probability of leaving me flat broke, divorced, and living in a van down by the river.

              Having a C&R has been fun. I realize I still have 2 from last year (Chinese SKS and K31 Swiss) still packed in cosmo so I need to get cleaning. Just don't tell thughes as he'll bust my chops.

                  Wow, nice! So what are they going for these days?

                  I've never seen a Russian SKS stock that dark before. Maybe it's just the lighting?

                    Not the lighting it's a very dark stock though sitting next to the very light colored stock on the M44 is a strong contrast.

                        I'm confused: If you have your C&R, why did you have to pick up these guns from your local FFL?

                            The guns are c&r , i don't think he mentioned having a license himself. Or, the FFL was the seller not a transfererer.

                              Roger that. His statement "Having a C&R has been fun" is what threw me off......makes sense if you interpret it as "C&R" referring to the guns, not an FFL03.
