Milsurp Swamp Shoot

Some weekday in February (to avoid the weekend crowd). The idea is to have a C&R shoot so you plastic rifle kids can try some of the old-timey guns. We can't shoot before Noon so plan accordingly. On the chosen day we'll get somebody there early to hopefully grab the best lane and get set up. I'll bring the grill and the hots......

Check your schedules and post which day works best for you and what you have to bring to the table as far as C&R guns, let's do this!

I'm good for any week day although I would prefer a Wednesday or Thursday.

I have the following for rifle choices, let me know what you guys want me to bring (don't say "all of them" unless you plan on helping me clean them afterwards):

Swedish M96 Mauser
Romanian VZ24 Mauser (8mm)
Jap Type 99 Arisaka
SKS: Russian, Sino-Soviet

I will of course bring the 1948 Marlin 336 Lever gun just because it's such a fukking gas to shoot.

Work out a date and post, I'll do my best at attending since I've brought it up in other threads. I'll be in Maine on the 15th for the wife's birthday on the 14th but do what works for the majority.

I am not trying to be a troll lol, I would venture the 5+ hour drive if my sled had sold and we had a second vehicle. I work with liberals, and when I am off I am taking care of a 2 year old and a 8 month old, my brain is starving for intelligent conversation. But I do turn Milsurp into plastic. I have my SKS in a tapco collapsible , and soon I will acquire a mosin and put it in synthetic stock and bed it as well.

Just busting stones, you know that. Of course you also know that putting the soul of these old girls into plastic is like pulling the 327 SB out of a classic '66 Chevy Impala and dropping it into a '97 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup truck but I respect your tastes (and it's your Impala). I think you should make the trip anyway, you could camp out in the woods at 24pink's place...he's got a lean-to he's not using.
