    Baby got a new dress

    I bought a new Boyds stock from CMP a few months back, the purpose being that a new tight stock improves accuracy. I finally got around to unboxing it and fitting it to the M1 tonight. Before the haters start......I have 2 Garands: a 1944 vintage with a worn out barrel and a 1955 vintage CMP with a +1 at the muzzle and throat. The '44 is staying exactly as God and The US Army intended it, she'll live out her days in her original uniform and get out once in awhile to stretch her legs. The '55 has a beautiful yet well worn uniform but she's a great shooter so she gets the new dress, the original furniture has been preserved and packed away for future generations to enjoy

    Tore her down for a thorough cleaning:





    Then I fitted the new dress. It's super tight and she looks really sexy in it:





    Can't wait for Garandfest in January at GCL!

      That is very nice thughes,

      I never had the chance to lift a M1 Garrand,when my dad father was still alive he still had the one he got when he was in the army WWII but I never had a chance to pick it up because after he passed away my aunt my dad sister auction it off which piss my dad off as he was suppose to get it. but his sister had other plans.if it was not for that I would probably have had it when my dad passed away..That would have been a nice piece of history I would have love to have..

      I heard the M1 Garand where pretty heavy being the stocks where actually made of real wood is that true?

      I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

        Nine and a half pounds! She's no lightweight but I like full-figured women so it's all good. (them big girls have the best curves)

                  GCL = Genesee Conservation League (gun club). They run a monthly CMP match.

                              Glad to see you finally wandered over here. I need to do some re-arranging with my schedule before I can commit to January, hopefully I can make it.
