  • SKS - still in service

Saw this on AL Jazeera this morning. Bangladesh police with an SKS at the ready. Warms my heart.

I do love them. Al Jazeera has the best mid-east news coverage on the interwebz. They are quite objective and report facts, which I appreciate.

That cop doesn't know how lucky he is I bet!

Two SKS's and then an AK, and who knows what after that...

That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!

I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.

I could have been enjoying his nuts.

24Pink, Santa brought me my very first SKS. Gorgeous rifle with crazy trench art. I scoped the barrel and it looks re-arsenaled. Crown is clean and sharp. With this said what can I expect for accuracy from the old gal?

All SKS barrels (except Yugo) are chrome lined, that's why they have held up so nice (well that and the fuking crap ton of cosmoline they pack them in). I've got 3 of them, a Russian Tula, a sino-soviet ghost, and a Chinese. The trigger on the Russian is the best, i can go 10 for 10 on the gong at 200 yards but have never shot paper at that range. The sight radius on these is pretty short but I'm happy with 2 inch groups at 100 yards using crappy Wolf ammo and these old eyeballs.

Tech Sights makes a nice peep sight for the SKS: http://www.tech-sights.com/sks.htm
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

            I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

Like thughes said - if your eyes are up to it, 2" at 100 yards is doable. But it's way fun to ring the gong at 100 yards.

Thughes is a much better shot than I am so experience is a key though. I will say that time and practice are key.

I don't. The tech sights require that you remove the stock rear sight leaf...even though this is not a permanent modification I don't want to do it. Besides: 1) I can hit a man sized target at 200 yards with the stock sights so I really don't feel I need the tech sights, and 2) if you install the tech sites you will need tools to remove them everytime you field strip to clean the rifle. I prefer to be able to field strip without tools. (this is also why I don't have a bunch of crap hung off the magazine tube on my shotgun)
