Thanks guys. Went to appointment today and they took more blood work . He's gained a few pounds which is good but some of that is fluid they found in abdomen today. They were surprised to see that now and not last week.

Soon we should get other test back from last week confirming cancer and they want to do chemo. We have a couple options based on how much we want to spend.

I'm going to have to do some research because what they are telling us doesn't seem to match what they are giving us on paper. They are telling us the rosey picture and best case scenario it seems like while on paper it looks less promising.

Good news for now is that he seems much more like himself.

Trying not to sound like a douchebag when I say this, but selling you the "rosey picture" keeps you forking over the $. Only you can make the right decision....and I know it's difficult when your heart gets in the way. Good luck man.

Update:
I'm getting really pissed!

Let's start with good news..... My dog is back to himself with the exception of drinking a ton of water and eating more than normal. Hopefully it's just the Prednisone he is on.

So I still don't have any definitive diagnosis. They did fine needle aspiration which came back inconclusive. They then said they had to do PARR test to confirm cancer. Instead of sending it to Colorado where they told me they had to send it they sent it to Cornell who sent it to Colorado. I checked Colorado website and it says send it 1 to 2 day delivery which obviously didn't happen. Colorado website also says vet is responsible for sending good samples.

Got call today that it looks like they don't have enough cells for PARR test! So now they are saying they want to take sample of lymph node near surface of body to look for signs of cancer. I asked what would cause not enough cells for test and they simply said it happens sometimes.

They cancelled a chemo appointment that was supposed to be a follow up appointment because they didn't have tests results at that time. Medical records said it was supposed to be follow up with potential for chemo. Email we got for appointment just said it was for chemo. Find it strange they cancelled a follow up because they couldn't do chemo!

They gave us drugs to help with chemo before we even decided on chemo and again their records show they gave it to us with a note saying we were going to think about it over the weekend.

There's more to this BS I'm sure but I'm pretty livid at this point.

That sucks. As if it wasn't bad enough dealing with a sick dog, also dealing with medical system runaround doesn't improve the situation.
