The avatar issue may have something to do with the fact some of your images aren't square. I'm using the default theme so I see a horizontal gray bar at the bottom of USMC's avatar, 4ex's and two vertical bars in Nortatoga's avatar. Try uploading a square image. Something that's say 500x500 pixels instead of something that's say 500x350 pixels. Or, perhaps USMC could figure out a way to get rid of the white square border that's around everyone's avatar. I hear he has a long lunch break and could probably figure it out in that time period

Haha, POP! Seriously though, look at folks who have a square avatar and you'll see the white box is filled completely while those that don't havea square avatar like USMC have a gap in the white box. Looks like when you upload a non square picture the site scales it to fit in the white box so if you have a rectangle image it will scale it down proportionately until it fits thus keeping the aspect ratio correct. If I were a betting man I'd put my money on this

That and when I was playing with making animated GIF avatars of the site logo I looked up the avatar specs for here and if I remember correct they want either 300x300 or 500x500 pixel dimensions for avatars.

Yup, I re-did my avatar after cgrutt replaced it that one time on me. The old one didn't fit right because it wasn't square.

I used MS paint and my amazing artistic talent to make the new one as close to square as my artistic eye could get it.... lol

Getting rid of the white border box would make things look better but it would still scale to fit those dimensions. So, get to it USMC!! LMAO!!
